I learned recipes from generations ago, cooking along side my mother and grandmother, I know a lot of the ins and outs.\u00a0\u00a0A lot but not all&#8230;..\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was in the middle of a recipe and I needed brown sugar, but it was rock hard and i didn\u2019t have anymore. there was just enough left for this recipe. what do I do? I know the trick of putting a piece of bread in it to soften it. but I needed it now.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I stood there thinking. Hmmmm then I thought it\u2019s like sand. where it gets muddy then softens when it dries.&nbsp;&nbsp;I get excited thinking I have thought of the best solution.&nbsp;&nbsp;I put hot water in the brown sugar bag and let it sit.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a couple minutes I put a spoon in to scoop out the \u201cMUD\u201d But there was none.&nbsp;&nbsp;Where did it go? then I realize and i burst out laughing at my moment of stupidity.&nbsp;&nbsp;Brown sugar is NOT like sand Of course not, it would never melt in, and would harden in the heat.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I have to shake my head at myself!
