As I\u2019m writing this post, I will admit I have tears running my eyes, my time up here has been extremely hard, it has been lonely, disappointing and hard, I am doing a job that I don\u2019t fully feel capable of doing, and I have been put as 2IC which means second in command, at my input has not been taken seriously or listened to, completely falling on deaf ears, I am really struggling to be honest.<\/span><\/p>\n

My coworker from back in Nova Scotia that was also up here. We finally met up today. She was off in another area and when she saw me, she gave me the biggest hug in the world.\u00a0 <\/span>We went for a walk, then lunch and she poured her troubles out on me and then I was able to pour mine out on her. She\u2019s really struggled being up here as well and it just felt so good to finally be able to talk to somebody that I am comfortable with, and have been friends with at work for almost 2 years, I told her about everything and she was able to give me a few tips of how to get through the next two weeks work wise, it helped a lot because there\u2019s so many things I can\u2019t talk about, but I can\u2019t with her because she said it too. <\/span><\/p>\n

So I have decided that I\u2019m going to shift gears. I\u2019m going to get up every morning and go to work. I\u2019m gonna put my hours in. I\u2019m gonna deal with every situation that comes up but then when it\u2019s time to clock out whatever time that may be, I am going to take myself on an adventure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whether it be a walk, whether it be a swim, I discovered there\u2019s a pool, I\u2019ve also discovered there\u2019s a rock climbing wall, one of my friends in Ontario has a military friend who is here in Yellowknife, and so my friend in Ontario has introduced me and this girl and we are going to hang out some, we hung out last night, she was pretty awesome so I was very grateful for that.\u00a0 <\/span>We are going to have adventures together throughout the next two weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have booked some tours and I won\u2019t tell you about them until they happen but they\u2019re pretty cool. I\u2019m really looking forward to them. <\/span><\/p>\n

This is definitely the hardest deployment I\u2019ve ever been on, the stress and frustration level is very high, however I\u2019m not going to let that get me down. I am determined to make the best of this situation. I\u2019m going to experience experiences that I may never get to again, I am going to have fun. I\u2019m going to explore and I\u2019m going to just live my life to the fullest and whatever spare moment, I can in a day.<\/span><\/p>\n

I won\u2019t be writing about work while I\u2019m here, there is nothing that I can write about so I am going to write about my personal time my adventures, my explorations, my silly moments or embarrassing moments. I\u2019m gonna write those down because those are the things that I want to look back on it remember of my time here.<\/span><\/p>\n
