When friends gather, memories are made

These past 10 days have been beyond fun, Nicole her two wonderful beautiful kids, and her amazing mother drove all the way to Halifax to spend time with me, and of course see the sites. We did all the tourist things like driving around downtown Halifax on the weekend night life, went to Mahone bay had a picnic lunch, then drive onto Lunenberg and went walked around the Bluenose II. On another day we went to Peggys cove, which allowed me to see the beauty and excitement through the eyes of someone who has never been there before. We went to the beach, had a picnic, searched for seashells, braved the North Atlantic 13 degree temperature, where me and Nicoles son boogie boarded the waves for an hour, once the sun started to go down and the sand fleas came out, we booked it back to car to head home.

Every evening we played board games, chatted and made future adventure plans, we tried out many games, some were winners and some were definitely not, we played a game called “Taco, Puck, Maple, Syrup, Canoe”, which turned out to be a night of laughing until we can’t breathe, tears so strong you can’t see the cards, and ribs hurting from to much deep no sounds laughing.  After that I taught them, a game called bug your neighbour which turned into new favourite game all around, which we continued to play every night from then on.

We decorate my walls with pictures that I had to put up after moving, making my new home feel more homey. We had amazing meals, and had a blast cooking and BBQ’ing together.

As I waved goodbye to them, I was panged with instant missing them and hearing the echo of silence in my house. Thank you for and absolute amazing time, thank you for the deep belly laughs, the tears of joy, the adventures, and the conversations, these memories will swirl in my head for a long time to come.

Now to switch my brain to deployment tomorrow, when I will hit the high seas for 4 months.
