Valentine’s Day has never been the same since the loss of Kenton. It is hard to believe that on that better night 12 years ago that I received the news that he was passed.
I have never hated this day. I have in fact taken the day to think about his memory and the fun times that we’ve had. That being said though I’ve never really liked this day.
Living out here in Halifax I have made a new adventure buddy, she is amazing but her partner is living in Quebec. So I have never met him, he sent her a beautiful Valentines package and sent a card to me. It was a thank you card for being her friend as she has recently moved here and had not yet made a close circle of friends. It was him writing a card telling me that he appreciates how I am willing to adventure with her.
It is crazy how something so simple like a card can just brighten somebody’s day. It can put a smile on somebody’s face smile, and you can completely turn around once in mind.
So I really really hope that whether it is a Valentines card, a phone call, a thank you card, a letter or whether it’s knowing that somebody has you in their thoughts I hope that today you can think happy thoughts and enjoy the love of friends and family.
