The Watermelon Disaster

The Watermelon Disaster

I wanted to send this story as it is already written out, to test and make sure the emails are getting sent out. if you dont mind dropping a word via email, messenger, or text to let me know it worked I would appreciate that, and I will start writing stories for you to enjoy.

During this whole COVID pandemic, I thought you might need a good laugh. The funniest thing (well now it is) happened to me the other day. Now picture this. I live on the third floor of an apartment building with no elevator. Which is usually whatever I don’t mind it at all, until I go to do a Costco runs, then it is brutal. Well this day was no different, I packed the bag I have for groceries, and then I started up the stairs lugging the load hoping I can do it in one go. The hallway is scorching hot (they like to keep the heat on) my bag is heavier than it should be, and to top it off, I have to use the washroom desperately, and with the other arm I am carrying a watermelon ………So yes you have guessed it, upon getting to the top of the stairs, fiddling for my keys, and doing the washroom dance, I dropped the watermelon……It all happened in slow motion. To the sound of my long drawn out NOOOOOOO the watermelon fell, split open, spun, made its way to the stairs, it did a teetering balancing spin…..then went down the stairs. It left pieces of watermelon and juice in its wake…..once it reached the landing one half did a fancy finally spin in the corner but the other still had a show to put on…it spin and twirled around the landing and committed to the next set of stairs, bouncing down it broke again and left a triumphant display of watermelon pieces and juice along the way. Now I am standing there looking at it…..analysing this watermelon catastrophe and I have to decide to deal with it before someone else walks up the stairs or go inside and use that washroom. I decide it can wait and in I go….for the next hour I am on my hands and knees picking up the pieces and cleaning the stairs of the juice…..and miraculously I salvaged 1/3 of it to still eat.

  1. Oh no!!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who drops fruit!

I always drop blueberries or raspberries because I refuse to not carry more than all my groceries on both hands, everytime …hahaaa!!! I’m stubborn!
That sucks, but thanks for sharing your not so funny, funny story! xoxo
