Well I’ve pulled a stupid and couldn’t figure out how to get into the website where i can post and edit! but don’t you fret, I have it figured out now!
I will post some more stories I have a line up of ones I want to share. Today however i am going to share with you my new and exciting adventure!
This whole COVID thing has really puts a damper on sports and events, no ball games, karate clubs shut down, rock climbing walls shut down, swimming pools shut down, etc.
So I’ve been contemplating what i can do to stay active and something I can do alone. Hiking yes but it’s more fun with other people to enjoy the view and the trail. Beach combing AMAZING, however after so many times of combing you want someone else to go with.
sooooo…….. what can I do that is challenging, fun, a workout, and can do alone. I decided to buy a surfboard. I got a learners board it is 9ft tall and it helps to get the balance of surfing, I am in love! It is so hard. lots to learn about the waves, the ocean, the swell, the balance of laying on the board, the balancing of sitting, and the hardest of all the balance of standing.
in the last two days I’ve……. been beat up good with the waves, been side face punched by the waves, paddles till my arms felt like falling off, kneeled on the board, stood for a couple seconds, mastered the back flop whilst coming off the board, and have many new bruises to make my body more colourful. and you know what, I WOULDN’T CHANGE A THING!!!
Soon I will be better at paddling, getting past the white wash, and be able to stand up on the board. That day will come, until then i have to just keep riding the waves.
Being out there is a good visual reminder that when life gets tough, and you can’t seem to paddle anymore, you’re blocked by the coming swell, just remember, you will rise above that swell until the perfect timing comes and you will ride that wave. you got this, whatever you’re dealing with just ride that waves.
If anyone wants to come visit or you live in the area and want to try let’s go!! Love you all!
Girl, you are one brave and adventurous lady!! Enjoy!! ..and, no, I”m gonna stay on shore…but I’ll cheer you on!! WooHoo!!
WOWZERS! Good for you! Have a blast! 🙂
