penguinWhat an absolutely amazing day! We started the day 07:30 where we went and did an scenic coastal drive, where we ended up at a lighthouse, the wind was so strong that I swear I almost learned to fly, as my dress skirt part picked up the air and I became a parachute, I didn’t take off at one point my dress wanted to share in the parachute experience and when Nikki was behind me my dress flew up and came down over her head. I’m thankful I wear shorts when I wear dresses or she would have gotten quite the view, of my backside.  I fought with it the entire time, so it wouldn’t blind me in a wind gust, or blow high enough that it went right up over my head and flew away like a it wanted to experience the world for itself, leaving me behind to wonder what adventure it just needed to have.  Once I finally got somewhat control of the dress I was able to enjoy the views.

After that we drove more down a beautiful coastline, then arrived at the highlight of the day, we walked around this beach where there are penguins, these are penguins that are native to Africa, they were just the cutest thing, they were digging holes, some hugging each other, some were swimming, some were sunning themselves, one was high on a rock and wanted to come down the rock but it was too steep, so there was a lot of outwardly confusion as to what to do, then decided going up and around was better. There was another one that was behind the stairs and I felt like it was a troll like in the story books where you had to give a fish tax and if you didn’t he tried to bite you, so going up and down those stairs was a challenge for sure. The funniest thing happened where two penguins were walking towards us, and the back one tripped over a stick, and let out a honk, I burst out laughing, he got all embarrassed and decided to make a hard turn and go into the ocean instead, it was the funniest thing!

This evening was free time and we walked around down near the waterfront and saw some live African dancing and singing that were busking, it was absolutely beautiful, they can sure dance so amazingly. Then myself Nicole and a new friend we met here on the trip had a lovely sit down supper, this restaurant was fancy and I felt like I was royalty eating there.

Tomorrow is a flight to Johannesburg, and safari!!!

Goodnight 🐧
