Today we were waiting for a snowstorm to hit so in the morning my friend and I went out and did a few errands, after we were done and about to head home we stopped at the store to get some last minute food. As we were standing in line, there was a guy ahead of us, wearing the most blinding bright yellow rain pants I have ever seen, they were so bright my pupils couldn’t figure out how to dilate to adjust to the brightness, he was wearing a jacket and a helmet, he was quite intriguing to see. Anyhow he bought his items and we bought ours then without a second thought we went back to the car to head home, now at this point the snow storm had really started to set in, we got in the car, started it we were just about to drive away when I noticed that that same man with his insanely bright pants on was biking just ahead of us, watching him bike away I saw a container of food fell out of the his saddle baskets from his bicycle! “Oh no he dropped food” I explained to my friend “drive over he needs it back” so my friend drives over to that container of food, I jump out of the car and snatch it up, then get back in the car, with the container al slushy from the snow storm I point ahead and say rather much to excitedly and loudly, “follow that guy on the bike!”
The chase begins, there is a car between him and us, but that car is turning and we can’t get through, worried we are going to lose the biker I start getting road rage “oh come on car go already, we are losing the guy!” finally the car makes it turn, and we also turn and continue down the street to now find the biker. After a block we find him and end up behind him, the light turns green we drive up beside him, I whip off my seat belt, roll down my window and yell “ hey mister you dropped this”. With cars getting impatient behind us, He looks at me at first aggravated thinking I’m saying something about him biking on the road, but then clues in to what I’m saying. He starts to slow down but pretty quickly realizes that it is very unsafe to do that in this almost white out conditions. So he speeds up and matches our car, then reaches his hand out, and I put the container in his hand, the Passover was successful!
With a huge smile on his face he says “thank you,” I reply “ you’re welcome mister, have a great day” we speed up and I look behind at the man in the yellow pants biking in the storm. I sat down, put my seatbelt on and rolled up the window, with the most content smile on my face.
The return of the spinach was a success!
Well, it’s hard to put a value on spinach, but it may have been very important to that guy!
