What a site this must have been. I was working a job the other day and I needed to get from the jetty, climb down the ladder, and onto the floating dock that was tethered to the jetty. I had my equipment with me and therefore it needed it to be passed from the jetty to me on the ladder, then from there I needed to pass it onto the person on the floating dock so due to the distance I had one leg on the ladder and one on the floating dock.
Well, I didn’t realize it but the floating dock was, well…. floating away… to the length of the tie rope. So here I am one foot on the ladder, the other foot on the dock, and proceeding to do more and more of the splits trying to figure out which direction to try to throw my body so I don’t fall straight down into the water.
Having both guys on either side encouraging me to come their way, I was torn on what to do, finally deciding it would work out better to jump my other leg and hand back to the ladder I went for it. Succeeding thankfully, I was ready to start again to get to the now far away floating dock. Reaching for the guys hand on the dock and not quite reaching it but taking a leap of faith really hoping our hands will connect, they did and he pulled me onto the dock and into the boat that was waiting to go so we could start our job.
