On Sunday I went out to supper to celebrate a friends birthday. we went to our favourite fish and chips spot, and ordered some Teutons as well (a traditional Newfoundland item)
Now the teutons came with Molasses that you are to dip into it. (it is amazing!)
anyways I open the container it is in and go to place it on the table, I put the container on the table then proceeded to take my hand away. Well I am pretty sure that they Molasses had attachment issues and the edges stuck to my fingers, causing it to come back off the table with me, then I am not sure what it was thinking but it must have gotten a boost of confidence, because it detached from my fingers and took a leap of faith thinking it could fly. Well it didn’t make it flying and landed upside-down on the table, where it proceeded to form a completely perfect seal with the table.
now here is the predicament, how does one take up the container without all the contents oozing out on the table.
My friend and I start talking fast and louder and manage to get the attention of the staff they come over see the predicament and start laughing.
By this time the whole restaurant had stopped talking and looking at us. By this time there were two staff members at our table also trying to figure out how to pick this up from its perfect upside down seal.
Eventually one of the staff gave up and lifted it make the table flood with molasses. After the staff cleaned the table (which took awhile) they brought me a new one and asked if I needed help opening this one.
Well happy birthday dear friend at least this one was memorable.
Thanks for an awesome day and it was definitely a birthday celebration to remember:)
