Metal detector

Metal detector

For years I have wanted a metal detector, I live right by the ocean and go multiple times a week so why not right? Finally after about 6 years of wanting one I finally purchased one on prime day.

When it finally came after anxiously waiting my sister and I excitedly opened it and set it up to prepare for the next beach visit.

Not two days later came and we were off to the beach. Arriving with such anticipation to find treasure, we made sure we had no metal or electronics in our pockets and set off. Our first beep was a bottle cap with the bluenose on it. Then continuing on, I started getting a big beep and pin pointed it. Digging excitedly imagining as to what it might be.  All the while shifting around and kept checking  with the metal detector to make sure I was in the right spot.   It was still there the strong beeps moving slightly.  Thinking it was a big treasure, I called my sister over to help me.  Coming over she takes the metal detector and starts trying to pinpoint the area.  Getting more and more excited and my sister slowly moving the metal detector noticing it is right where I was.  After about 10 minutes of digging, I start to think something must be wrong, as I had dug way deeper than the metal detector said it was.

Sitting in the sand thinking everything over, It was then I realized that there was no treasure in fact,  but rather it was the metal plates in my legs.   So no matter where I moved it would be going off.

After hysterical laughter and jokes being made about it. We decided my sister will take the metal detector and when we find something or want to test something I have to walk away to make sure it isn’t me setting it off.

Now to figure out a way that I can  use it without setting it off.
